Need input on a cage -- please look!

Does anyone here have their lovebird(s) in an all-acrylic cage? We are considering this one, partly to contain the mess but also because I love the idea of being able to see our beautiful bird without bars obstructing the view!

http://www.acrylicman.com/Bird_Cages.html

What do you think? The size they suggest for a single lovebird is the A1 - 23x16x16" -- it's $119 + $40 s/h/i

The next size up is a mainly a bit taller.

Anything you can tell me about your experiences with these cages would be great. And is that an okay size for a bird that will be allowed out to play every day?

Thanks!
Tiffany

Cage

I have no experience with acrylic cages, although I understand wanting to see your birdie clearly. However, the cage seems quite small... ? I have a cage I ordered from Amazon.com for $60 total, including S&H. I absolutely love it, can see Ellie very clearly, and it comes with a stand! It only took about 3 days to arrive after ordering. I would highly recommend it!

Amazon.com: Brand New Bird Brids Cage Cages 18x14x60 6804WHT/S: Home & Garden

She has plenty of room to spread her wings and play - she has plenty of toys/perches and she loves it.

I actualy purchased a cage from him and am having a few issues with even getting him to ship it. After the fact I heard from some other people that they to had the same issue.
As far as cage size I always go one size up from what I think is a good size or the recommended size to make sure they have enough room and are comfortable.

For a lovebird you should aim for a cage that is approx. 24" square OR larger. Wider as opposed to taller (think breeder flight cage vs. the typical square/skyscraper-style cage) is better.

I've always thought that acrylic cages were pretty neat; my concern (other than ventilation issues) is that some appear to be lacking places to hang toys, ropes, perches, etc. Lovebirds are a playful species of parrot. The more toys the better... and they are often active little climbers. It would probably be better to look for a powder-coated metal cage.

I'm not sure that this guy is making good sizing recommendations for his cages. The largest cage he has is 30x24x36 high and he recommends it for "Cockatoos, Amazon, Small Macaws etc."... my little parrotlet has a larger cage than that.

Thanks everyone! We ended up going with a larger, traditional cage. I keep hearing about problems with these acrylic ones...
