3 pics: Is this normal or really dry feet?

Hi everyone!

Thank you for looking at these pictures. The last two days I have noticed NO CHANGE in attitude, happiness, eating, poop, sleeping habits, or diet. My bird has been doing perfectly fine except that his poor feet look dried out a bit.

He is today four months old and so I would ask you experienced bird companions to offer your opinion:

Are Tui's feet extra dry and in need of a Vet visit tomorrow (Monday the 11th of February) as early as I can get in? OR Are these pics just showing average feet dryness that happens every now and then while new "scales"?? on his feet grow in?

His right foot:

His left foot:

I am thinking it may just be like our hands and dries out and falls off and newer skin/scale grow in. No harm just nature. But, it may be more sever drying and if your opinions say that it is I will take him in to the vet for some remedy and will identify the cause.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

P.S. I have a sand perch that he is on for only a MINOR part of his day. The travel to his food dishes and off when he rubs his beak on the sand perch. While he eats he is perched ON the food bowls and not the sand perch. So, I really doubt his dryness is due to any "over"exposure to a sand or concrete perch. He doesn't have a concrete one, just a sand perch.

I will add pictures of his cage perches if necessary.

not even dryness? just a colorful pair of feet?

Cool. Glad all is well and that I was justified in responding relaxed when I first noticed the color change all over his feet.

Thanks all!

I had peachfaced lovebirds. . .most of them were "normal" but I had one strange mutation that made all of his colors MUCH darker than his sister, but this was about 8 years ago. My "mutant" lovie had "different" feet like yours, but he had them from the time I got him. I never worried about it, although now I'm thinking I was an awful mommy for that!

I do have to say that your camera is AMAZING on thsoe close up shots.

lol thanks, but the most amazing part was that Tui cooperated long enough for those. He sure didn't for his 4-month picture I was taking at the same time.

And I doubt you were an awful mom.

Those are actually good feeties - you wanna see dry you should see my Too!,LOL. No , those feet look real good. She may be carrying the pied gene to have those spotted feet like that. My one hen has the pied genen and youd never know it unless you look REAL close at her browband and its edge is not a clean line but she throws VERY pied babies and sometimes they have colorful feet and sometimes Ill get one who does not look pied and he too will have spotted feet sometimes.

Aw he's cute, and he's really grown up heaps now - his beak is all pale now, and his feathers look more grown up.
