Question Perches?

Can anyone recommend the best quality perches to buy for lovies? I really dont know whats the most appropriate material for their little feet. Wether it be wood, rope or plastic ones?

As of now all i have are the plastic ones my cage came with.

I have rope, dowel and a branch perch for Benji. He seems to like the rope the best in his cage and dowel when playing outside.

I've got rope and wood....different sizes and shapes are best for their feet and they often like to munch on the wood.
Mine do seem to enjoy the rope ones best and you can buy several and twist them around inside the cage and make them more interesting and fun for your birds.

You can also get wood perches from the trees outside...just do a google check on the safest types of wood perches and make sure to clean them well ( some suggest baking in a 200 degree oven)---I took mine off a dead birch tree so there was nothing living in it and that wasn't necessary.

You can also buy ready made wood perches ( petsmart has a good selection ).

I don't have any plastic perches....

I use rope (Booda "comfy perches"), cholla cactus, grapevine, manzanita and one of those pediperches (I can't recall which brand at the moment).

Variety is key as it helps exercise a parrot's feet and helps aid in proper foot circulation.

The dowels that come with cages aren't much good but I often keep one near the food cups in addition to other perches throughout the cage.

Plastic perches aren't the best so I'd discard them after your bird gets used to the new ones :)
