Terrorizing Lovebird?
We adopted a LB that will be 2 this January. When we first got her, she was fully flighted and she would bite you if you were near her. The first night, we let her out and she flew to people but when she got to them, she would bite like crazy. (not a soft bite but a downright almost piercing the skin kind of bite) 2 days later we got her wings clipped and she was okay with being handled. A week or so later, she's gotten back into her biting mode. We could be sitting on the couch and if she comes close to you, you have to be aware of her b/c she will attack for no reason. It's to the point where DH doesn't like her around b/c he is terrified that she will bite. I've learned to get kisses from her but still afraid that she may attack when the kisses are over. To get her to move off of me I have to use a light mist b/c i can't remove her with my hands.
Does anyone have any experience with a bird like this or with attacks? I am trying to have patience and gain her trust but the other family members are totally petrified of her. Is there anything I can do to stop the attacks?
Thanks!
