Finally got her to take a bath!
I've been trying to get my lovebird to bathe ever since I got her but she has always been completely freaked out I tried a spray bottle but that scared her to death, I tried a bird bath but she wouldn't come anywhere near it, I tried a bowl of water but she would just drink from it but never bathe...
But yesterday I had her on my shoulder while washing my hands and I notice that she is very interested in the water so I just keep my hands under the water a little longer and reduce the amount leaking. Finally she came down and tasted it and than went completely under it and just stood there She really seemed to enjoy it. My bf came home while she was bathing and was locked out and I wouldn't open the door for him till she was done Next time i'll get pictures |

hahaha aaaw... Guess she wanted to do what you were doing, sitting in the water!!
Mine jumped into the sink first but panicked when she realized how slippery it was and decided it was better to just sit on my hand. A good reason for me never leaving the toilet open and always having her under supervision is she is always falling into things like the laundry basket, garbage bin, plastic bags etc. I'm so worried that she will fall into the toilet sumeday og get stuck in a plastic bag and suffocate! |
