Exclamation PLZ S.O.S guys my lovebird is dying..help me

My lovebird started 4 months ago having weakness to fly and so i put it to a special cage seperate from my other lovebirds... so i took medicine with vitamine D,E etc and one antibiotic..but nothing happened..the lovebird was sitting on the branch of the cage and while he was trying to stay his head was always going down to the floor of the cage like showing a kind of suffering in his eyes..i went him to my vet and the vet show the inability to stand on his feet and fly..told me that probably could be an infection to his nervous system but she couldnt rly be 100% sure for that...she gave me on medicine again with vitamines but still the same..my bird is loosing weight day after day and i can do anything to help ...Plz if y have an equal experience send me some advices ..what should i do how i can help it???

Is your vet an avian vet? Has the vet run tests?
Really sorry I can't help more but you really sound like you need an AV.

I am so sorry for your troubles. Are there other veterinarians that you can consult? Sometimes it is very hard to find the right doctor or vet. If you think we could help, PM a mod with your location and we may be able to refer you to a vet or to other members who live near you. Good luck to you and your little one.

I agree....it could be numerous things. Get to a vet who will do blood work and a thorough exam, if one has not been done by your current vet.
I am so sorry you and your little bird are going through this but it has been a long time now and something needs to be done to either help him heal or help him end his suffering as it sounds as if he is going through a lot.

Call around for a vet who either is an avian vet or who has a special interest in birds....good luck and we hope your little guy gets better soon!

to say the truth as i remember the vet didnt do blood examinations..But i rly cant understand how it is in such a bad situation and he is eating continuously...i couldnt ever imagine that my pet could have an incurable disease.I just pray to the god to take it with him if his pain is intolerable....People say "cmon its a little bird y can take another one " but i say that every creature on this world has its own value...Even though i have 17 lovebirds i care for each one like being a part of life!! thx everybody for yr comments..

Get bloodwork done...
And yes, they are all special, and they all matter.
Eating is a good sign so let's hope that the bloodwork shows something they can help with.

Getting blood work done is even more important if you have 17 Lovebirds, you want to make sure that it isn't something the others can catch.

i agree w previous posts - bloodwork could tell you a lot... if you find a good avian vet, that's the first thing that s/he should do unless the bird is extremely weak and taking blood would be too risky.

it sure is a good sign that he's eating - set up a heating lamp to keep him warm and make sure he drinks enough

yea thats what i m afraid of...he s too weak and i think that a blood examination could cost his life...Well as i see he drinks rarely water and i dont think that its pretty good because the medicine is poured into his water..Dont know how to press him drink more :P (by the way thanks for yr interest)
