bar spacing for a lovebird cage?

I've read it should be a 1/2 inch. The cage my Mo came with (craigslist adoption) is just a smidge less than that. I'm looking at this cage: Aviantelligence Leisure Lnge Cage w/Playtop

it says the bar spacing is 5/8. I know that's only 1/8 inch difference but if I tried to wear shoes just one size different I'd be a pretty unhappy girl. So I'm asking what size bar spacing my lovebird really needs and IS there a significant difference b/t 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch for a lovebird?

And since I'm asking, I've read all of these horror stories about iron, zinc, etc poisoning from powder-coated cages that aren't within the non-toxic limits. Cheaper cage = less likely to follow guidelines = dead bird. Anyone have any experience with this manufacturer?

I'm new to the bird world and to here so play nice until I get this all figured out!

That is perfect.. My lovie is in a cage 2 inches smaller but the same bar spacing.. Smaller is OK you just dont want to go bigger so their head can get caught..
