I just plan to hang around the lovebirds do some whistles and see who's att. I get. They told me they have a mix of Lovebirds so I'll probably stick around for awhile. What better way to spend my day off LOL. Dude is irreplacable but I have to try and find a new Loverbird to train and bond with. Outside of DNA testing is there any other way to figure M or F ?? Color . I want a male I think they are better natured. Any ideas ? Thanks 2 Tweets

Sorry to hear about your loss! I spent my day off yesterday in a bird store too! LOL. I hope you find a special baby to bring home. As far as sexing them goes, I'm farely new to lovies, but as far as I've heard the only accurate way to tell is by DNA testing. Good luck !

With the common species there is no way to tell visually other than if the bird is a sex linked mutation. Also, males tend to be calmer and less territorial.
