I think my lovebird is looking for 'action'

My female lovebird is in her cage and she has her wings out and tail up like an airplane. Is this her 'come hither' dance?

There is nothing she can make a nest with.

Should I just ignore her while she does it? Will it pass?

I have never had a girl bird before!

Is she definately a she? If so I would ignore her. Also, depending on her age she may very well lay eggs. For this reason I would make sure that she has a source of calcium such as egg food or a cuttlebone. It is good that you are not giving her nesting material. The other thing that you may want to do is to give her less time in the light as this can also effect egg laying.

Thanks for your past reply!

She is DNAd a she.

She is just over one year old.

She gets natural light with the season. The days are getting short here as it is coming into winter. Should I cover her over earlier than sunset?
