I agree, get a clamp lamp and put it over one side of his cage so he can move in and out of the heat if he is too hot/too cold. Warmth is very important as is cage placement so he feels secure. Don't change his diet too drastically if he has just moved in with you. If he continues to puff up a lot even with a heat lamp, take him to a vet sooner than later.
