Anyone use sleep huts? tents? etc...

Where do your lovebirds sleep?

I do a lot of sewing and I was thinking about creating one of those sleep huts or a tent or something of that sort? Do any of your birdies seem to enjoy this?

Thanks!

My Sun that I just adopted is the only one who will use one. My Tiel came with one when I adopted her, but it wasn't in her cage and the lady never said if she used it when she was with her but never with me. My Lovebird will sleep in cardboard boxes, but it is breeding season and since she is a she I discourage it this time of the year.

Ive got a couple and none of my birds would ever use them.

My conures sleep in one. They pile in one together. So cute. My other birds don't care for them.

My quaker and my sun conure each use their happy hut, my lovebirds sleep and spend a lot of time in a Nutriberry bucket. The female takes ever toy she gets into the bucket, so cute. I started this by giving them seed in the bucket because she scratches it all out of a food dish. When she get millet she works till she gets it in the bucket and thats the last you'll see of that.

I have a sun Conure and he loves his happy hut. He has also has chewed most of one end it off. If you do make one or buy one, check them everyday so strings are not freyed for little toes to get caught in. I just clip off all loose strings and put it back.

Oh and umm I have a lovebird. I was told not to put any type of hide in their cage because they become very territorial over it. Unless you plan on breeding them. I had a happy hut in their when I first got it and my lovie got very possessive!!Would run across the cage to bite me!!

AJ, Orrin, and Rylee love theirs! AJ (lovebird) sleeps and plays in his all the time. I have made most of my tents out of polar fleece with a sealed "pocket" in the bottom with a rectangle of plastic from an old rubbermaid tub lid. I throw them in the washing machine when they are soiled, and they are holding up nicely. If you can make you own tent, make sure not to leave any strings and check it often for wear. It is definately faster, easier and cheeper to make your own tent if you can! :)

One of my homemade tents:
