maybe adding another lovie

I just put in an order for a baby lovebird today. It was a snap decision as I was just in the shop buying some millet spray and toys but as the guy was charging my card I asked him if he had any babies due. He said he didn't but he could write my name and number down for one. So I did, I'm officially on the waiting list for a masked baby lovebird. I figured that if I realize I don't want another bird just yet I can allways back out when he calls.
Me and my boyfriend had talked about getting another lovie but we hadn't made a decision. In a wierd way I feel like I'm letting Pixel down in some way, like he will think that he's not a good enough birdie or something, since I've only had him since January.

Another bird is a big decision that requires commitment, time, and money. Do you feel ready to care for your two lovies for possibly the next 10+ years? Take some time to think it over before making your final decision!

If you do decide to go ahead and get another lovie, it is probably a good idea to house it is a seperate cage from Pixel. Lovies can be territorial (as you probably already know), and your new baby should be quarantined anyway. :)

I know it's a big responsibility and I feel I'm up to the task. After I got Pixel something in my life just clicked, I hurry home from work to see him. I had to have him stay the night at a friends house the other day after I cleaned my bathtub with a product I felt was too strong for him to be around and I missed him so much! Just looking at his empty cage made my heart ache.
But like you said it is a big decision and I'm thinking about it. The market here is so small that if you want a handfed baby you could have to wait for months so I feel I'll have plenty of time to think about it.
I knew about the cage thing and a friend of mine is going to see if her old cockatiel cage has the right space between bars so I could use it.
