My 4 week old lovie!!!!

Here she is, Kiwi!!!!!!!! Got her today, 4 1/2 weeks old. Absolutely love her. Family loves her soo much already. Shes so nice, and shes already starting to follow me!

I also tried to put her next to my conure, wich I think Kiwi likes. She tried to hop on Sunkists back. But my bird sunkist is super afraid of everything and got crazy scared, lol.
Sunkist also goes near Kiwi, but I don't know if he will bite her. Sunkist doesn't show any aggresiveness or anything negative when he sees the bird. But I'm still very afraid.

Here are some pics, shes tiny!!!

I also need to tell you where I got the bird. Lovebird by design in Connecticut. Kathleen has honestly, been such a great person to talk to. She helped me out with any questions I had, sent me progress pics on the birds, and gave me a great amount of stuff with the bird. Top notch breeder and a sweetheart! :)

She is adorable. Is she completely weaned? It just seems kind of young. I love them and her coloring is similar to my girl with the exception on the black beak.

She is gorgeous! What a doll baby!

Ok- I guess I'll be the "bad guy"...

Any new bird coming into a home with existing birds should be quarantined for a minimum of 30 days, and some do it for 90.
This is for the sake of the birds you already have, keeping them from illness from another aviary/home. Also, your new baby, with the stress of a move, can have a bit of a weakened immune system, and not as easily able to deal with different bacteria that it's not used to. ie- from other birds' poop if they happen to land on the cage.

Please be careful of that huge sunny beak. He'll be 10x faster than a 4 week old lovie.

I'm sure the breeder had you handfeed several times before the baby came home... a lovie should not be completely weaned until approx 8 weeks, and some up to 12.

Anyway- congrats on the new baby- and I'm sorry if I sounded "preachy" lol

Yeah I'm still hand feeding the bird, I've done it before and the breeder went over it again with me.

Yeah I'll keep them away from each other then for a while . Don't worry about sounding preachy, your trying to warn me of any negatives, so that is very good. I definately don't want any harm coming to any of my birds.

Aw, what a cute little Dutch Blue!! What mutations are the parents? I checked out that breeders site, but it doesn't state which of her birds are paired up with who... looks like he/she could be American Cinnamon because of the lighter color (and the flights look cinnamon in one picture and normal in another), but can't tell just yet since after the first molt the color grows more vibrant.

So couldn't hold out for an Edged Dilute, huh?? Hehehe.

Edged Dilute was no where to be found! :(

Maybe next year I'll find one. Or like I said, you can always drop your bird off in Connecticut :)

But I must say so far I absolutely love Kiwi! I was even at a surprise birthday party, and I couldn't get drunk or anything cause I wanted to hang out with Kiwi and was worried about if my parents fed her right, lol .

She's a White Head American Cinamon.
