Talking Got a new baby

I was given a lutino peach face lovebird today. She is yellow with red eyes and only a few weeks old.

Pics coming soon!

Congratulations on Daisy! She is beautiful! Do you know that she is a she because of the sex linked lutino gene? Cosmo is looking great too!

I dont know about that gene?? Im not sure she is a female. I was told you can tell by the space between their pelvis. Males have almost no space and females have a more pronounced space... I think my Cosmo is a girl.. hehe

That is not considered to be very reliable. The space can change at different points in the birds life. Especially the female's. As for the gene, if the father is lutino and the mother is not, then any lutino babies will be females. Also, if neither parent is visually lutino then any lutino babies will be female.

Oh, I will find out what the parents are.. Thank you, So would 2 females get along in the same cage? Or is that a bad idea? I'm not sure what Cosmo is..

Not later as they mature. Two females can be a problem - not always - but can when they become sexually mature. CUTE CUUUUTE ceeuuuute!!!
