I'd take them to an avian vet just to be safe. I know lovies are small (like budgies or tiels) so often they don't get taken to the vet but your birds do sound sick if they are losing feathers and fluffed up and if you can afford it it's better to be safe than sorry. Birds will hide illness well and by the time they show symptoms like fluffing up that we can see they generally are sick. Good luck with them and hope they come out ok! Also if you have a cage that has anything poking out that can be a danger move them!
