Bald-Headed Lovebird

I have a single female lovebird. She has recently started losing feathers on the back of her head. At first, I didn't think anything of it, maybe something had happened to her and they accidentally got pulled out, but the baldness on her head to spreading further. It's still on her head, but she's becoming more and more bald.

I'm worried about her. She's been eating the same food her whole life, and we've never changed that. She's about 7 years old. I've started fostering kittens, but she's in her cage a lot of the time and doesn't really have contact with them. Additionally, we'd had the kittens for quite a while (around two months) before she started losing her feathers. Her head is almost completely bald on top.

Time to see the vet. If she was with another bird Id say the other birds is plucking her (which is not uncommon) but being alone its time to see the vet. Feathers dont just fall out unless something is wrong

Yes, I agree.... a trip to the vet is in order.

I doubt she could have caught anything from the fostered kittens.

Hope she's ok...
