Thanks!! Im just so excited and i noticed when i last looked at the little "guy" that "he has i guess you want to call it "down feathers" cause "he" looks a little fuzzy and they are white...but im trying not to bother them all too much and its so hard but im controlling myself LOL...i do want to make sure that "he" is being fed tho but i am guessing that "he" wont stop shouting if he was hungry LOL

Ill keep everyone updated about the others and will have pics as soon as another on hatches!

Hello, I raise Lovebirds myself. First of all, Congratulations on your baby! Is there only one? Second, if you carefully remove the baby and look at his crop, you will be able to tell if they are feeding it. You can tell whether it has food or not. The crop will look like a "bubble". I would watch them carefully. To make sure they are getting fed. If not you may have to pull them for hand feedings. If I remember correctly, last time you found them dead. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Congratulations again, lovebird babies are so adorable!

Yes your right in a way LOL i didnt find them at all to be exact! One day they were there and the next they werent. So im not quite sure what happened there. That time i was off on vacation and the second one hatched the day before i got back as my "babysitter" was looking in on them to see when and if they did hatch. But anyways since you are the first "expert" to respond to me i have alot of question if you dont mind LOL but i will check the crop. I know i caught mama bird feeding the baby when i took a peek to see if "he" was ok so i think that is a good sign. I have just one baby so far and the other should hatch on friday and im hoping it goes good from there cause they didnt have a problem until the 2nd baby hatch last clutch. Is it ok for me to handle the babies this young? I dont want to pick it up and check the crop and the parent give up so to say cause i touched it. I do kno that i can't even go near the nest with out mama bird trying to nip at me. But thanks for the advice!

From my understanding, its just a myth that the mother bird will abandon her babies just because you "touched" them...

Congratulations! If you are not comfortable touching the baby you could try looking. Depending on the position that the baby is in you can see the crop. I would not recommend putting your hand inside the nest box when a parent is in the box. As the parent tries to remove "the threat" they could hurt the baby accidentally. Best of luck this time!
