Mama bird doesnt like babies???

Today i had the babies out after i fed them cause they like to play a little and walk around and of course give me kisses LOL but Raz(mama) was out of the cage for a bit and i guess she decided that she wanted to see the babies...well she flew over to where i was feeding them and i let her go up to the babies but then out of no where the first thing she does is peck at them...i thought it was just her trying to figure out who there were cause she hasnt seen them in weeks but then she kept doing it and so hard that Banana was chipping like she hurt him...so i shooed her away...Is this normal?? Does she not like them? I cant figure out what her problem is...but i hope shes not going to be like that when they get old enough to be in a cage and fly around...

Some mother birds just don't mesh with their offspring. I am not sure if this is common but I know that it happens. Im assuming you are hand feeding the babies and they are no longer in the nest box? I wouldn't place the babies with the mom if you can help it, you don't want her potentially killing them. I would just keep the mom away from the babies just because something bad could happen really quickly.

This is one reason that some pairs have to have their babies pulled before weaning to be handfed.

Unfortunately she probably will show the same aggression. She may even display more as they would appear to be a bigger threat to "her" territory.

Yea, I agree with matt. She will probably be aggressive in the same way because "she was here first, and this is her turf". Just keep the babies safe and away from her to prevent any accidents.
