Aviator for Lovebird
I have ordered an aviator harness for my lovebird. I emailed Steve Hartman to ask if he thought the smallest one would be small enough and he said he thought he did but expected that the bird would not let me put it on.
I really want a harness for her so we can go for walks so I made a practice harness from ribbon. I don't mean to use this outside at all, I just wanted to make sure I could get a harness on her before I ordered one. It went on no problems. She is an amazing little bird!! She ran around on my bed for a bit and then decided that the harness might taste good ![]() She was not trying to escape and was not desperately chewing. She was just munching away on it! Should I leave the fake one with her to let the novelty wear off or should I take it from her so she doesn't get in the habit... Not quite a LOL BURD but I couldn't resist the pun... Excuse the ratty feathers. She is in full moult (and still not cranky!). ![]() I will post pictures here when she gets the real thing and we make our first trip outside

Definitely take pix once you get the actual Aviator on her -- I was always under the impression that they were WAY too big for the average lovebird!
If it doesn't work out, you can try the Bird Diaper/Flight Suit/lanyard combo from Avian Fashions. Best of luck!

Eliza, I thought that it would be too big. The parrot people said in their email to me that usually the problem is getting it on the squirmy little bird but Squiz just sat there. If it is too big it will fit my 'tiel so I am not worried.
