didn't you have to seperate them because one was picking on the other, or you stressed them out or something? Did you take them to the vet yet?

... Are you sure you have a male/female pair?

Your male sounds like a female. The behavior your "male" is exhibiting is female behavior. Again, please do not rush to breed these two. I know you are eager to have babies and get them to start breeding but I really feel you need to do more research before you start this process. I only say this because some of the questions you are asking are things you would know if you researched bird behavior and lovebird behavior.

As has been stated before, breeding is a very meticulous, time consuming and serious operation. For the safety of your birds and their health as well as the safety & health of their potential offspring please don't rush into this. Let these two live apart and get used to their environment and one another.

If you're having DNA testing done in a vet's office, it could be pricey. I've seen $50-100 per test.

You can order a test kit from Avian Biotech or Zoogen and for about $20-$25 per test, you can do it yourself. All you need is a little blood from a toe nail or feathers plucked for the chest.

What is the story on your two lovies? Did they come from reputable breeders or from a pet store?
