In order to have lutino babies you must have a visual or split to lutino male.

I LOVE Fischer's lovebirds -- so cute! I'm partial to the wild/normal-type but the lutinos? STUNNING!

This breeder has a lot of information on Fischer's so you might want to check out his site: Fischer's Lovebird - A Bravenet.com Hosted Site

Best of luck!

For peachfaced yes, for fischers, no.

In Fischers the ino mutation is not sex-linked, there are no sex-linked mutations in eyering species. It's known as NSL ino (non sex linked). It is an autosomal recessive mutation, meaning both parents need to carry the gene in order to produce visual lutino young.

2 yellow dilute birds could work, but I would avoid it. I personally would also avoid breeding lutino x lutino. I would breed a lutino to a wildcolour green then work with the green split lutino offspring.

If you wish to achieve visual lutino's in one generation then try and cross a lutino to a green split to lutino, this will produce half green split lutino and half visual lutino. Lutino x green/ino

If you wish to produce a line of lutino's, then try and always breed splits for better results.

can u explain why 2 dilute is not a good idea? i know that you should not breed two red eye together because their genes are weak if you breed them together, but are all lutinos have red eyes? if not is it ok to breed a red eyes lutino to a normal eye lutino?

i dont have that much space to breed a lutino to a normal fischer then work on the youngs gradually... thanks

There's only one form of lutino, and it has red eyes yes.

Breeding 2 dilutes is not desirable as the young are often of a lesser quality. Using a visual to a split produces much better quality. You can still do it though, and alot of people do as they believe these birds to be stronger than ino pairs, although i dont think theres much genetic weakness this day in age. Be absolutely sure the birds are not related though.

A yellow bird with darks, that looks like a lutino is probably a DEC (dark eyed clear) or it could be a pale pastelino.

success!
