Cool Fresh veggies and Fruits

Wanted some ideas on what veggies and fruits to get my lovebirds. This part here is new to me. As the parents never were fed veggies and dont care much for fruits. I tried it once and they just looked at it and didnt even touch it. But i'm willing to try again and since the babies are at the age to start weaning a little or introudce them to new foods i want to know a few GOOD veggies and fruits for them to try. Also i heard baby food was good for them to start off with???????? And as for the veggies should i cook them???

When introducing a new food to birds that have never seen it before Ive found it best to just be persistant and keep offering the food every day. Eventually the birds will become interested enough and want to try the food. To avoid wasting food, I would have fresh food in tupperware containers and put back whatever they didnt eat (which for the first week was ALL of it, LOL). Consistancy is key. I also prepare food, cook it and then store that. Beans, corn, etc. It really saved on time and my birdies love it (thank God!).

In addition to broccoli, my two lovebirds like chard, cucumber, apple, and pear.
They do not seem to like carrots or grapes.

OOPS! I forgot that they really like whole corn on the cob, uncooked, both to eat and to play with .

Just a note: Corn on the cob should at least be steamed for a bit to kill any mold spores. It needs to be cleaned REALLY well.

In general, lovies might eat a bit of fruit here and there, and they should be offered, but they tend to prefer veggies.

Try raw, cooked, steamed, chopped, grated, whole, all kinds of ways until you figure out what they like best.

New babies might prefer warm, soft veggies to start. You can make your own puree instead of buying baby food. Lots of commercial baby foods have too much iron for little lovebirds.

My lovies' faves are broccoli, carrots, kale, corn, squash, cantaloupe (with seeds), apple (no seeds), grapes and pears.
