Angry Lemon Bites WAY Too Much!

Ok i dont know if its cause Lemon is a GIRL or what but all she wants to do now is BITE! The bites are getting kinda hard now too! I ALWAYS tell her NO in a nice and calm voice and then place her back in the cage but its always the samething everyday and everytime i take her out. The others don't do this. They like to nibble on my hair but never my fingers. They have been told NO from the start of any nibbling so i guess they got the idea but Lemon is NONE STOP BITING! I don't know what to do. I can't even let my kids take her out cause all she wants to do is bite. And its not like she is ok when you first take her out, its at the moment that she steps up on your hand that she goes right for the fingers. Any suggestions on what i'm doing wrong?????

Maybe she doesn't want to be handled? If that's the reason, you can try changing her mind about evil hands by using rewards and offering her little pieces of treats (millet spray, nut cut in 6 or more pieces, hulled sunflower seed cut in 4 pieces, etc.) for first coming close to your hand. Then encourage her to step on one hand to reach the treat in the other hand, rewarding for each tiny step in the right direction. Pretty soon, she'll be climbing on your hand, ready for her treat. Always at her pace, take your time, never forcing her to step up, rewards for each little bit of progress.

And i have tried the treat thing and having toys in my hand when shes on me but my fingers seem to have a better taste to her LOL Maybe she is just acting like a baby with terrible 2's LMAO

How old is Lemon? Is she being cage aggressive at all or wanting to keep herself inside her cage? It could be the beginnings of a nesting behavior or it could just be that she just doesnt want to be handled. Believe me, I know what lovebird bites are like - OUCH!! She most definitely could be having her terrible 2's as well, lovebirds go through some pretty crazy behavior changes. Good luck!

As for her not wanting to come out of the cage?? She WANTS to come out. I know that for sure. Everytime i walk over to the cage or go to open the door to let them out...Shes the first one out. She looks like a little kid going in a candy store for the first time with a crowd of people LOL and when i go to put my hand in there to have them step up...I dont even have to say it to her cause shes on my hand before i can get the words out and is halfway up my arm before the other two realize that its time to come out and play LOL

I have been working with her tho. When i have her out i hold her with my hands and run her beak but not holding her to where she doesnt want to be held but in her case she loves the holding part anyways. I even put her in her "playing dead" position as i know she LOVES to be that way and rub her beak and if she tries to nip i tell her No that hurts...in my nice calm mommy voice LOL but its a work in progress and hopefully she grows out of it. They are 6.5 weeks old and in the process of weaning them competely so we will see what happens but thanks for everyone support!
