Congrats on your new soon to be little one, Im jealous!!! As far as quarantine goes, do as much as you can to prevent the new bird from coming in any contact (sight, sound, physical) for at LEAST 30 days. I had Neko downstairs in a room and Oliver up stairs in a room for 45. Some say it is hard to do a completely proper quarantine because if the same air is circulating than they are going to breathe in one another anyway. Do what you can, do as much as you can and under no circumstances assume your bird is healthy and just place them near one another until quarantine is over & a vet check has been done.
I use vinegar water and hose it down with the hose outside, let it sit in the sun to dry.
