Question about Love Birds

I have four love birds, all I have gotten lately. Two are great flyers but two do not fly so well and I don't think their wings are clipped. Does this mean they are more of babies or what?

Did all 4 lovebirds come from the same place? If not, could mean the 2 that came from elsewhere had their wings clipped from birth and were never able to fly so now that their wings might have grown in they could just be learning how to use them - its hard when youve never used your wings before to just up and start flying. Kind of like walking!!

Now if you got them all from the same place its still possible they just havent used their wings yet or are getting used to them. It is also possible, like you said, that they are still young - do you have any pictures of them? Sometimes you can see how young there are from beak color, but not all lovebirds have this capability. Im surprised the person you got them from didn't tell you how old they were or you didn't ask their ages. Are you using them for a breeding program or as pets?

All four came from differernt places. One that I just got yesterday they ask my daughter if she wanted the wings clipped and she said no so.. I wouldn't think they would be already clipped but I am not sure. How can you tell if their wings have been clipped or not or if they just aren't great flyers yet?

If they are babies the wings could still be growing out but in order to know how old they are you would have had to asked who you got the birds from, they should know. As far as seeing if the wings are clipped, you would have to pull them out and check to see if they are fully flighted or not. It might be difficult to do this if they birds are not used to being handled. You can towel them (google how to do that) or hold them if they let you. It might take two people to do this. You can also google pictures on what birds wings look like fully flighted or what they look like with wings clipped.
