when is enough time?

Our lovebirds had their first clutch, with the first egg presented on Sept. 30th. It is now early Nov...I have heard that the first clutch may be unsuccessful, and candle testing didn't show signs of hope. So when do we take the eggs and nesting box away? What's the best way to help them make the transistion?

Usually when the female lovebird abandons the eggs you can take them out or when its been well over the time that they would have hatched.

This time of year really isn't the time to allow breeding...

How old are the pair? Are you sure they are male/female? Are they the same species? What size cage? Diet?

We haven't had them dna tested yet, and the whole thing was a surprise to begin with. One morning we woke up and there was an egg and before we knew it there was nine! The lutino is definitely female, as for the other? That is still up for debate, but his legs are too close together to be female. Thanks for all the help and advice.
