Need Prayers for Jetson
Hi,

We could use some extra prayers for Jet (5 yr old Illiger macaw). We had to take him to the Vet and they are keeping him over night as he is not doing good. Last Sunday he had a bulge under his neck, crop area and we thought it was a ruptured air sac. We put him in our birdie hospital and the next day he looked better. This AM he was not looking well or eating very much. We wanted to take him to the vet last night but none of the Avian could see him. In fact we started to take him to one of the regular vets but turned around and came home. Today we took him in to our Avian vet and she said she is not sure but he may have something in his crop keeping him from passing his food. Tonight he is on antibiotics, in the AM the will do Xrays and ultrasound. He does not look good but he is a fighter and I know he can make it.

I'm in tears as I type, we love all our birds soo much. Even when you know all the signs of sickness and have all the bird hospitals in your home, sometimes it is not enough. I had baytril here last night but did not want to administer it without consulting an avian vet, damn I could not get in touch with one.

I prefer to think positively. He was very healthy just a week ago and that gives him an edge. If its an obstruction, removing it will likely fix the problem very quickly. He is of course in all of our prayers.
