Whew, Just got back. It was almost a 5 hr trip one way! I now am the proud slave to a 11 yr old, DNA male, blue and gold macaw! His name is Calypso. I answered an ad on petfinder for him. I actually ended up finding out thru another site that she's selling bird from the rescue that her mom ran! Her mom passed away in June so now she's selling birds off as fast as she can. She didn't tell me about the rescue until I "caught" her. Then she gave a pretty good sob story. The sad thing is she's still taking in bird under the rescue name and then posting them on the internet to sell. I had already put a deposit on Calypso to hold him or I might have backed out. I do have his full medical history. He came all the way from NJ just the end of July! The prevous owner gave a great detailed letter as to his likes and dislikes. He only had one owner before me if you don't count the "rescue." I'm hoping I can write the origional owner and get more info. He's an absolute doll! I'll post more about him soon!

Yep, that's her. Has anyone else dealt with her? I'd love to know!

No, I haven't... however, if the story is true, then she means well... and she plans on continuing the rescue, however for now she is not prepaired for the responsibilities thus she is rehoming most, if not all, of the birds her mother cared for...
