weird blue and gold behavior what is this?

my bg who i think is a female, i have no had her tested, and i dont intend on it, she has been sticking her but in my male gws face, and stretchign her wings, she will grab his foot and hold it, she follows him around the house, and screams if she isnt with him. sometimes she bites me if i go to pet her or him, and then sometimes she will bite him too. oh the gw hasnt been tested either, so i dont know if i actually have a male and female. just going on instincts. now they are cage mates, they grew up together.

my bg is not quite 3 yet, in may. my gw just turned 4 this month. is this something they do out of bonding? the gw sometimes nips at me if i go near the bg, but not usually. is this mating behavior?

i put them in the same cage so they would always have eachother, and never be alone when i wasnt home, they are only caged when i am not home or cant watch them.

im just wondering if my bg is showing mating behavior? i have never had 2 macaws together before. i think it may be time to seperate them, which i was told a long time ago that i should do. i just didnt want them to be lonely. so what do you guys think of her? behavior?

Sounds like they're growing up to me, and beginning the process of pair bonding and eventual mating. If you don't want this, separate them now before they become too bonded, otherwise you all might end up with broken hearts if you wait too long.

Sounds like birds being birds. lol

Enjoy this as it could/will get louder.

I used to think my male Scarlet was a pain in the rump. Biting, shouting, laughing at us. To have it all back again. Enjoy the sights and sounds of birds being birds.
