Talking Question

This morning I got an email from the breeder who is selling me the
Illigers baby. He was asking me if I would be interested in taking the
clutch mate also. The 2nd baby is 2 days younger. In the beginning I
had planned to get 1 Illiger and 1 Severe. With that opportunity now I
am undecided what to do. Would it be better to get the 2 Illigers
together?

its up to you!! they obviously arleady know each other so they could stay in the same cage together, you just have to make sure they bond to you, not only to each other, and that later on when they mature, that you never breed them together if they turn out to be male and female. did you want two of the same type of parrot, or did you want two diff species? consider their personalities, did you really like the severe's personality as much as you like the illigers?? i think i would want two diff types of birds, but thats just me. i would base my decision mostly on the personalities of the birds.

In either situation, it seems to me that the best situation would be to get two birds of the same sex... as you don't necessarily want siblings to breed... and you don't want to create hybrids, either.... however, it is possible to keep siblings or even different species together and NOT breed...

Sorry, can't say I'm much help! It's really up to you!
