B&G macaw chewing on feathers!

I was unexpectedly hospitalized for two whole weeks. My family took care of my flock, but because I was in the hospital, everyone was too busy going there to visit me, and besides from giving them fresh food and veggies, they really didn't give them attentin like I did when I was home.

When I came back, my two little ones, a lovie and a conure, who prior me being in the hospital, hated each other, became bestest of friends.

my blue and gold? she's not plucking, but rather, is chewing on her tail feather, making them look rather pityful...

ive been trying to spend more time with her...but any other suggestion for me to help her kick the habit?

Its difficult to change stress related behaviours. In all probability, it will correct itself now that you are once again home. Bird often use feather destruction like humans use nail biting.

Try providing more interesting stimulating toys and games to keep her occupied. Hide treats such a nuts in little bags and make her forage for them. Distraction will probably go a long way in keeping her beak away from her feathers.
