Tons of q's but I'll do one at a time!
We've just adopted a 6 yo B&G. I am concerned about 2 things.
1 - her nails and beak. Since she is out of her cage and on her stand almost all day now she doesn't have as much access to her cement perches and her nails are so overgrown that I can hardly carry her around. Any suggestions? She hates being in her cage now that she knows she is a true part of our family and is out with us all day. I will attach a pic of her stand. I used to work for a vet and feel comfortable doing her nails now that she has adjusted, but her beak.... just recently I noticed a small crack in the tip of the top half and she gets things stuck in it.... feathers etc...
I can't afford to go to the vet with her just yet.... any suggestions?
2 - another beak question.... she has had an overgrown beak on half of her lower beak....(she has had it for all of her life as far as I know) how soon is too soon, or do you recommend nipping it in the bud before she gets too comfy, before we take her in to get it fixed?
I will try to attach pics that help with the q? We have had her for 1 month.
... of course now that I look at the pics I have I don't see any with her beak being obvious.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated though!
