help!!! greenwing macaw beak color

hello macaw experts. hope you could help me with this. my greenwing macaw is already 1 year and 7 months old but parts of his lower beak are still white. arent they supposed to be totally black at his time. i read one time that abnormaly light color of beaks in birds that are supposed to have black beaks is an indication of an internal problem, unfortunately i cant find the site anymore. i hope someone could shed light to this. thanks to all.
