thanx for the info!
Thanx for everyone that commented about Rio and his eye issue. Unfortunatly I had to take him to the ER on the 23rd, his other eye was shutting and I knew his vet wasn't in until after the holiday. I really just wanted him back on antibiotics until I could talk to his vet. Again they checked for a foreign body or eye ulcer. Rio was not impressed! However I was impressed with both the ER vet and Rio's. The ER vet really listened to me and was very considerate. He actually called my avian vet at home on Sun. (he was sleeping on the couch watching football) and he imediatly wanted to talk to me to make sure I was ok. That mad me feel like he really cared. For those who commented on the sedation-he said he would like to just put him in a twilight state to get a good clear picture of his sinus as well as all areas behind the eye to make sure there is no growth or foreign body. He doesn't want to repeat it if Rio moves, but he will not be completley out. I am a pediatric nurse so I understand exactly why he wants to go that route. I also spoke with the ER optho Dr. who really thought it was unlikley that he had a tumor b/c of age. He's better, but the abx are not taking the eye blinking completley away. I still would love to hear if anyone has had this issue before. Thanx to all!
