ive gotten babies born in winter, no probs here. alot of my birds breed in the mid-winter too, thats just when they naturally breed. my breeder friend has tons of macaws and greys that breed during the winter months too, and hers come out just fine :)

My baby conure was just hatched about two weeks ago, and just got pulled for handfeeding. The breeder has at least two-three pairs on eggs/raising babies right now. Her breeding schedule starts around early december.

Since the birds are indoors, and you can adjust lighting and heat, there really isn't a winter. The only problem I might see is a lack of humidity in helping the eggs hatch because the furnace sucks the humidity out. But that's easy to correct.
Another thing to think about is the molt. Many birds molt in the fall and may not be in optimum health for a few months because of that. |
