How old is your Macaw, and how long have you had em ?

I have seen some sigs that show your Macaws & how old they are, But I am curious how long you all have had them.

Also, how did you aquire them.

For me -

Princess was my first Macaw. She is 2-1/2 yrs old B&G

Our daughter had asked for her own Macaw after falling in love with my inlaw's 3 Macaws, so we Princess when she was about 3 months old.

Then we took in -

Spike - GW Macaw 40-something
BoBo - B&G Macaw 40-something
Gerry - GW Macaw 40-something

All 3 were my inlaw's.
She got them when they were about 2-3 yrs old. Each one were impulse buys by the original owners, and after a while the people just gave them to the local animal rescue.

Her health has been bad for a couple years, and my husband decided it was time to move them in.

Max was hatched in 8/2000. That puts him at 6.5 years old. I've owned Max since Christmas 2000. I bought Max at a Pet Store.

Paco was hatched in early 2001 and I've owned Paco since 11/2001. I guess Paco is about 6 years old. I bought him at a Bird Fair.

Mila (DOH 6/2005), Rain (DOH 6/2004) are both blue and gold macaws. Igot Mila from an aviary last October. Because she had not sold,they were talking about putting her in their breeding program. I think we were all happpy when an arrangement could be made to add her to my family. Rain was on his 2nd home in less than 6 months and it was not working out due to incompatability with the 2nd owners 18 yrold B&G...He now lives happily in my home.

Charlie is around 4 years old and I have had him since he was around 6 or 7 months old.

Sapphire's hatch date, Jan 4th, 2005. We've had her since Feb. 4th, 2005.
She is now in the terrible twos!

Our oldest is at least 6 or 7, and we've had him for a year. My youngest is 7 months old, and I've had him for 2 months, although he still lives at the handfeeder's house. We have added all of our birds to the household within the past 14 months.

Tiki is 10, I've had her since she was 5 months old and just weaned. She was a gift from my parents; I was 16.

Red will be two next month. I have had him about 7 full months. He was sent to me in July 2006 on an airplane, his former parronts had received orders to move overseas.

Bacio is 2 yrs 7 mos, I've had him for 2 years (thank God, as I almost lost him this week...). Bella is almost two, I've had her for 1 1/2 years. Bebe is age unknown. I took her in from The Gabriel Foundation, and in the past 3 weeks she has just blossomed.

Baby is an 18 year old Miligold. I got her about a year ago as a 3X re-home.
