I have an HQ double macaw cage and I love it! It took the place of a couch in my room though!

I have a 40" wide for my U2, and I wish I had gotten the 48" wide. I would think you would need a bigger one for a Macaw. He would be a happy and lucky bird if you could fit the double macaw cage in your house. The baby would be lost in there at first though. I saw your baby. TOO CUTE!

The one disadvantage to double cages is that they're hard to move if you want to take them outside to power wash them or rearrange a room. They're definitely good size-wise, though, if you plan on having your bird spend most of its time in there.....

I recommend Kings cage 506, in stainless steel. GW macaws are just about as strong as the average Hyacinth, and are very prone to chip powder coat off of cage bars. The 506 SS isn't inexpensive, but it'll last a whole lot longer than the average cage, especially if it's a powder coated cage. It's 48" wide x 36" deep by 6' tall. Since our birds spend more time out of their cages than in, that is PLENTY big enough for him (we just built them a 10x10x6' tall outdoor covered aviary as their "summer home" during the nice days). Heck, Mikey has a hoopball in that Kings cage, and he still looks small in there :-).

I find that Kim's model D.M. cage (you are welcome Sweets ) is easy for me to move and roll right out the door or sliding glass door to clean if necessary (with air pressure & wire brush, damp towel). I don't power wash my cages as I don't want water to get into the hollow metal pieces and advance the on-set of rust...... Now it is true of course that the big 80"x40" D.M. Cage most likely will not go thru a door without disassembly unless your doors are bigger than mine - so of course measure the door openings first before purchasing but if ya have the room and don't need to get it outside once or twice a yr. or so, then I still would go with this biggest size cage over a similar smaller size - of course I do not have a MaCaw so I am not aware of any damage that can be done by their beaks.

Ya might also consider buying a roll of S.S. wire and just make your own -really not hard. That way ya can custom size it.

Off topic, but...Wow, what a nice site! I wish I had seen that before I bought Kilo's cage. I love the house with corner playtop.
