going to pick out my B&G baby today

HI I'm going to the pet store to pick out my new B&G baby today. They are still being handfed twice a day so I wont be able to bring him/her home for a few more months. Any suggestions on picking one out I would really appreciate it.

I would just sit there with them, observe their personalities & see which one picks you. Crystal

Congratulations on your new baby. I agree with Crystal. Go and spend time with them and see who picks you.

Yup, agree with the others. Let him pick you. Think it's a stronger bond when they do.

[IMG][/IMG]Well I went to the store yesterday to see the babies. There were a total of three. They all looked so good. But there was one that caught my eye quick. As soon as I opened the cage, I slowly put my hand in there and this one imediately came over to me and started to nibble on my finger. It wasn't hard at all just seemed like he/she wanted to taste me. I started to talk to him/she( not sure if it's a boy or girl). It would follow my hand around the whole cage. It even came up to the door of the cage and let me pet it's head and body. The other two just laid back and watched. This one never left me alone and I was in there for about an hour or so. I definately chose this one. I loved it's outgoing nature and felt that it chose me. It's still being hand fed, so the owner said it would be about another 2 months or so before I can take it home. I'm also going to get it sexed before I leave too. Will it make us have a stronger bond to visit it a lot while still being hand fed or doesn it not matter.

Naaa.... don't bother with the DNA'ing. I KNOW it's a boy, and Dog knows, I DO know boys, having a house full of only males :-). I've always chosen the most outgoing bird, and it's always turned out to be a male....

LOL! J/K about not getting it sexed! Get the baby dna'd. It's so much easier to choose a name when you know the gender :-).

Congrats!!

Congratulations on being chosen! LOL!! Visiting will definitely help with bonding and it will help in the transition when you bring the baby home. He/she will be more comfortable going to a strange home if he/she is more comfortable with you.

I had DNA done on Sailor... SHE was being called HE for many years... It also helps keeping records straight and up to date. The shop probably gets a discount too... take advantage of any money saving tricks now while you still can.
