how to get macaw to eat in her cage
Hello everyone. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get my 7 month old greenwing to eat out of her bowls while she is in her cage. She has only been with us for 3 weeks and she is usually out all day on her playgym. The problem is the only time she will go in her cage comfortably is at 9:00 at night when she is ready for bed. The other times she will go to the bottom of the cage and chew on the doors. She has a double macaw cage with plenty of perches and toys but she only wants to eat when she is on the playstand. My problem with this is the days that I will be going off somewhere I'm scared she won't eat the whole time I'm gone. Any tricks of the trade to get this bird to eat when she is in the cage? Thank you for any help you can give me!!

Hi Macy! Moved your post so the Macaw Experts can have a go. Hope I got it right this time as it seems I managed to delete it last time. Sorry!
I'm a bit new too! All the best, Heather |
