Smile Help W/ Green Winged Macaw

We have a Green Winged Macaw baby who will be 4 weeks old on August 1st. Her eyes have not opened yet and we are concernd! Please if you have any advice we would greatly appreciate it. We are however wetting a wash cloth with warm water and going over the eye with it about every hour. It looks to have helped but any advice would be great. Thank you

Definitely contact your avian vet!!!!!!! Sometimes eyes don't open by 4 weeks however, to be on the safe side, contact your vet.

Is this your first experience raising a baby macaw?

Yes this is our first time raising a Macaw. We gave the baby back to the breeder and he took both her and her brother to the vet and they have been perscribed drops, and cream. We will receive the baby back when she is better! I am not an experienced baby macaw owner or feeder so I am not willing to harm any macaw based on the lack of my experience. I do however think that so far I have done a pretty good job with the feeding process. I truly love our new baby and hope everything is ok with her. If you have any advice on this matter or any other matter concerning Greenwing Macaws, we would put it to good use. Thank you , crystal

Crystal,

Why are you doing the feeding?! Have you had hand feeding experience with any bigger birds?
