Keeping One, or Two Pet Macaws
Would someone please give me the pros/cons of keeping a single macaw for a pet, or two as a pet of similar size. Would I want to keep same sex birds? Is it better for the bird/person bonding experience to keep only one? Is it better for the bird to have a friend of the same species (in separate cages, of course). I have noticed that a lot of people keep more than one pet macaw. Does it keep the macaw happier? I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you in advance!

LOL..........I just saw that someone else posed this same question a couple of months ago, so I have been able to read everone's responses, and it has helped me! But, if anyone new has feedback, I'd love to hear it.

A single bird tends to think more like you do. As a flock, they tend to think like birds, which is healthier for the birds in the long run.
The better talkers tend to work one on one with a single human partner. If you have a life apart from your bird, it is only fair that your bird have a life apart from you. Consider a bird companion for him/her.
