Thumbs up It's official !! He's coming home!

Hi Everyone.. I know - you all told me, but it's official now. Luvluv is coming home with me. We're bonding and he's responding just wonderfully. He's getting better with me everyday and I even got kisses tonight!! The owner of the shop even said, "Oh my gosh. You can see the trust!" I'm so excited!

He has a new official name too and everyone says it so fits him.
His new name is Elliott. It just matches his little personality. He's a young bird and an old soul - you can just look into those sweet little eyes and tell. Also, when he walks on the floor, he has this little wobble that reminds me of movie E.T. - running after the little boy calling "Ellliiiiottt, Ellliooott." It's adorable!

I also found out he's a little over a year old and I'm getting him vet checked once more just to ensure all is good. They're getting his papers for me.

So it will be about a month before I can get him home and set up a quarantine area for him, get his cage etc.

So I'll probably be asking for lots of advice adjusting to a two-macaw household. I'll keep you all posted.

For some reason I can't get into photobucket tonight, but I'll get some pic's loaded again for you to see him.

I'm hopefully going up today or tomorrow for sure. Making some payments on him and I'll take some more pic's to post. Now that I've made the decision, I can hardly stand it!

Update with pics and video

Hi Everyone, I was at the shop today visiting with my new little boy. It looks like Elliot may come home sooner than I thought - about 2 weeks I'd say.

I got an extremely nice compliment from the shop owners today. They told me they wanted Elliot to come home with me so he could really get the one-on-one attention he needs and so we bond even more.

There was also a gentlemen in the shop today that LOVES Elliott and the owners would not sell Elliot to him because they believe I will give him the best possible care that he needs. I was so touched by their trust and faith that I will give him a good home .. and I definitely will.

He's been checked by the avian vet - All is good there - healthy boy except for the wing of course (birth defect where he cannot fully extend the right wing) - but it's not life threatening and as you can see from the video does not hinder him at all !! LOL

I attached some pic's and a video. Is he just ADORABLE or what?!!

I will need some advice on the quarantine period. I know it's 45 days and any time I visit him at the shop, I come home, change clothes and wash my hands and arms before I handle Newt. I will continue this practice when I bring Elliot home. What else do I need to do during the quarantine period? Any advice would be appreciated.
