New arrivals expected today.

It's a big day here. Bailey and Callie, a beautiful pair of Illies, are moving to North Texas. A big thanks goes to Kim, their other mother, for sending these Fids to us. They are coming from Pennsulvania on Delta, arriving 6PM CST. Both were hatched in 2007 just a few months apart. She's a West Coast Valley girl and Bailey's a debonair ladies man from Magaritaville. I can't wait to see them in person. This will be our second pair of Minies, we have a male and female Hahns too. Hope to be able to post pictures soon. Just love those pint size Macaws

Arent they the best? We have three: A Severe, A Yellow Collar and a Hahns. We also have a big Miligold who we adopted and brought home today. Illies look like Hahns only a little bigger if I am correct?

Yes the general appearance is similar. The are actually more colorful with a large red area on their backs and low belly, lots of blue on wings and tails. The are quite a bit larger than my Hahns and have much deeper voices, which really surprised me. They sould like BIG Macaws amd Hahnsies more like Conures. Callie and Bailey are still getting used to us so they are still very quiet but I bet once they settle in we will hear some racket. I have read that they do better when paired and make good parents.

My little Hahns is quite the talker, he has the cutest little voice and a BIG vocabulary. We rescued him on Jan 9, 2008 right after losing our Blue Crown Conure (who we still havent gotten over, that was really rough to lose her). It took him awhile to blossom but when he did wow. He didnt even know how to step up when we brought him home, of course he does now. He is still a little afraid of hands, but he will climb down the side of his cage hop onto the love seat and make his way to my shoulder... they are quite good climbers. He just sits there for hours while I read. He talks and preens my hair and when hes done he heads back to his cage. Hes a mess. I absolutely adore him. He tries to be buds with my Severe and Yellow Collared but obviously they are not having it. We really have to watch him when they are all out. Well please post some pics when you get them, I would love to see them. Congrats again.
