Blue and Gold Macaw

Hi, this is my first post as I just started. I have a blue and gold macaw named arty. As for his age I am not exactly sure. Problably 6-8, something around there. He has been kind of aggresive recently and I guess it is from lack of some attention. So I have been playing with him and he lets me pet him a little he snaps at me, but sometimes he's ok. I was wondering if anyone has some advice on somethings:

1. I am trying to get him to eat veggies. (tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, etc.)

2. He has like a plucking thing. He's plucked his tail, and back, also scrratched his head. Is it from dry skin? Boredom?

3. I want to be able to pick him up off his pirch. He gets one foot on the towl or whatever I'm using but he refuses to let his final foot off.

4. I would like to give him a bath figured it might help us bond and he hasnt had one is almost forever. He has only had a couple in his life.

Thanks for reading this and all the help.

Did you just get him? Does he come out of the cage? If he wont step up on your hand try an extra perch that works better with some birds.

New to macaws? Try to find an experienced macaw person and let them see and interact with the bird. Take notes as to what they tell you. A vet check up by an avian vet would be smashing!

Most birds are afraid of towels with hands/fingers in them, by expirence. I would ex-nay the towels.
