severe and greening wing cross

OK this is just hypatheicly (or how ever you spell it) can a severe and large macaws cross breed. I tried to look it up on the net and found nothing. but, there both ara so I think they could.

Hahns macaws have hybridized with sun conures and nanday conures.... although they are of similar size.

A galah cockatoo has hybridized with a cockatiel.... a good size difference!

I'd say that yes, it is possible.

Possibly but I wouldn't...no way...maybe if the female was the larger one but seeings how she is smaller the size of the egg could kill her. My mum has rosellas and king parrots that feed in her backyard and there is one that looks like it is a king parrot rosella cross.

I would be interested in seeing a picture of what is possibly a hybrid king/rosella...

Courtz, the hybrid between the galah and cockatiel, the father was the galah, and the mother was a cockatiel. I had similar worries, but they made a baby!

I hadn't read that the hen laid a large egg... although I have seen a couple X-Rays of lone female birds (ringneck and I believe a cockatiel, in particular) who were egg layers... and laid eggs so large they had to have surgery to remove them! And then the birds were fixed so that they could no longer produce eggs. The eggs weren't even fertile...

However, one person bought a female cockatiel from a breeder who was prone to laying extra large eggs (small enough to lay, but still larger than average). The tiel had relatives and even a daughter who were also prone to laying large eggs... but not all of her family relatives (blood related) were prone to these extra large eggs....

Guess I'll have to wait a while for that pic! Just don't forget, if it still visits ur mum!

Yeah I read that the egg was about 15-25% bigger than the other eggs. That's what got me angry when i read it, but if the galah laid it it wouldnt have bothered me. Yeah i will definately try get a pic. I want to see it myself. It would be an eastern rosella with a king parrot. That's what comes and feeds at her house.
