Cage for Harlequin Macaw

Hey all,

I just put money down on a baby Harlequin Macaw. We are looking at 5 or 6 months before the baby is weened. But we wanted to get a cage and get ready as time goes by.

So what is everyone's idea on a suitable cage?

I am currently looking at:

YugiSoft.com

I am also wondering about a travel cage?

The bird will not be expected to be in their cage except when sleeping or when we are away on short trips to the store and such.

Thanks all!

Look up Love On The Wing--they're in Minnesota and they have great prices on Kings cages... for a Harley, I would recommend a 406... and if you can, a 506... I have seen some MASSIVE Harleys!

These a great for macaws! we have 4 of these cages and love them!

Kings cages are not worth the 1000.00 sorry we have spent 2,500.00 on 2 cages that are in shed after 4 months of use, due to paint chipped so bad and rusting! At least Yugisoft does stand behind their products and does replace at their expense.

i have the GIANT double macaw cage by HQ 80x80x40 not to be confused with the regular double macaw by HQ. ruby uses every inch of it. bigger is always better. its also avalible through yogisoft.

for a travel cage, i got the biggest, wire, dog carrier petco has. they need plenty of tail room, to be comfortable.

I have a Harlequin and he has a Model 406 from King Cages. I ordered from Yugisoft and I'm still waiting on my cage. He could only find 1 color. light gray, so you may want to check with him first before buying. If I don't get my cage this week, I'll let you know.

My Harlequin is a big boy, so make sure you get a large cage.

Hi Folks,

I am getting a Greenwing this fall, so I have been doing some research on cages.

Have you heard any good/bad things about Freedom Cages?

This is the one I am looking at, it is SS:

Samsula

What peaked my interest was the feeding station or Freedom Buffet:

Freedom Buffet™

I spoke to the owner, the Freedom Buffet has been out since 1995.

The dimensions are 8in x 24in.

Any thoughts or opinions or experience??????????????

Light grey is good GOOD!!! you will be ok with that! Trust me, I ve had allllllll colors and my Light grey cages always look the best. They just dont show the dirt and I dont care how much you clean - dark cages always look messy!
