Angry Latest SCAM involves Hyacinth Macaw???

A friend emailed me a link to a classified add on Kijiji.ca that was selling a Hyacinth Macaw for $6,000. Canadian including the cage.

I'm curious and truth be told a bit interested so I emailed this person and gave my phone #.

I've had a couple of email responses back and one included a phone # that has an area code for Seattle Washington area -603 350 1315.

I'm now thinking that this must be a scam of some sort as I haven't had a call from this person.
Also, they had the add listed under dogs/puppies for sale - too wierd.
I'm mad at myself for getting suckered into responding to this add - my instincts told me that there was no way a person would sell a Hyacinth for that little + sell it on a "used" type website under puppies for sale

Oh well, live and learn,
just thought I'd share this latest demonstration of how low the human race can go to make a buck!

We get a load of adoption scams here for Hy's, they claim the bird is free but you need to pay them to ship it to you, and you never hear from them again once they convince you to pay through Moneygram or something.

It's a sad world where heartless people use live animals as bait.

If you want to buy a bird, VIEW it and PAY IN CASH! the two most important rules. Otherwise, you're likely to be on the receiving end of a scam in seconds.

I don't blame you for looking into any add. You never know when you might get a good deal. We need to tell one another about scams so that we will recognise them as such. I would never exchange any money until I had the bird in my hand.

Most people that are in the market for a Hy will realize what is a scam and if they're going to spend that kind of money, they're gonna be a bit more business savvy I would hope! If you're in that market, you should also ask for references.

Most reputable Hy breeders also have a waiting list for their offspring...at least in the U.S.

I get alerts. The same guy in OK, and AR, must have his own jet because he's also in NY, DC, WA state, and CA. He uses a yahoo add, and hotmail add. He includes a photo scanned off a breeder in TX. The breeder is real, the birds are real...... they just don't belong to the jet-setter.... who also has a UK email, a Paris, France email, and is linked to Africa as well as Middle East........ Oh, and his entire family is either needing surgury, or dead. He claims to be a doctor, but works in a bank that is trying to extract funds from his war-torn country, and needs to be able to invest it in US businesses,.... but you have to meet his attache' at the airport to sign for the millions he's wanting to invest in American hospitals or other care facilities... If you give him 10 thousand, and meet him at the airport (unfortunately the name of the airport is being withheld for security reasons and will be disclosed ONLY after you have paid, and given him your bank account numbers) you will be kindly rewarded for your help with a bank cheque in the amount of 26 million U.S. dollars.

Do you see that fish hook in my jaw just reeling me in?

LOL, is this the one where a Nigerian macaw is fleeing a dictatorship and needs to transfer his eggs to Australia so he is posting in the USA for funds?

(Yes, it's a scam)

I think that's the cousin... 3 or 4 times removed... and as far as I know, they aren't on speaking terms. Claims that the import laws of eggs to Australia are much to difficult, and by the time the eggs get through quarentine, they will have hatched and be fully fledged... provided they can hire someone to turn them in the portable incubator, and be paid to feed, and ween. But then they would also be under contract as a business partner to release them when they are fully fledged, so that the entire country would benefit from their beauty!

I have been going back and forth with a guy claiming to be selling a hyacinth for $500 I know for a fact that this is part of the cameroon scam they have also been running scams with dogs as well and monkeys the dogs are yorkies and english bulldogs the ones I see most of.

Try running the email and the name used through google with scam added to it and see what pops up.

I am now is the proccess of bursting this guys bubble. I love his reason for needing to get rid of the imaginary bird,

"couple with my longs our of work which during this period the birds are always left alone in the house know body to look after them "

yet his add states,

"has a very good termparement with kids and other pets as he is raised in a decent and socialized home."

They should really learn their story lines better.

the people that do this kind of stuff are the STUPIDEST people in the world. i'm not saying that cause their cause is wrong, but that it's true. haven't you noticed how many "dumb crook" stories there are? they greatly outnumber the robberies that go by perfectly. these people are a disgrace to the human race.
