Miligolds are not that popular. You might get more response if you ask the forum for min cage size for BG (or search the forum), or google it.

Then go bigger, because Miligold is bigger! Here is a comparison between BG and Miligold.

I have a Miligold. He is a bit larger (bulkier) than both of his parents. He will be two in August. I have had him for about two months. I bought the biggest cage I could find. Captain has his own room... well hes got a roomate actually, a three month old Blue Crowned Conure. You will also need a big perch. We made ours out of some pvc pipe and some poly rope. I will post a pic later... he loves the thing.
Cage size: Inside: 46" x 36" x 63" high; Outside: 54-1/2" x 44-1/4" x 78" high.
Fosters and Smith has this size cage on sale right now for $499.00.

Congrats on your new bird... you are gonna love him/her. Will this be your first bird?

Biggest you can get. Do you see that giant head and giant beak? LOL.

Military macaws are one of the biggest behind the Greenwing. Miligolds are usually only slightly smaller. Look how they inherit the giant head and huge beak! You don't have to worry about bar spacing (you need a huge cage and any huge macaw cage will have adequate bar spacing).

Bar spacing is really more of a concern when you have a small parrot and are trying to buy a huge cage for it. The huge cages have wide bar spacing which is dangerous for small parrots. But with a huge macaw with a strong beak like that, you need an inch or more, which will be standard on big macaw cages. Don't worry about getting it to an exact one-hundreth of an inch.

Again, get a macaw cage, and the biggest one you can afford.
