David, I used to visit Bing everyday too and I think it made his transition to his new home all the easier. I appreciate your taking time to prepare for his arrival. I did the same with Bing and he still came home two to three weeks earlier than I planned.
Now I'm going to show my ignorance. I haven't quite figured out what macaw a 'BTM' is. Which of the babies in the pictures is yours?

Beautiful bird!!!!! It'll probably be a few years until I am able to add a btm to my life. Looking at pictures of your beauty growing is making the wait even harder for me. :) I know s/he's still at the store but what do you think of your baby's personality thus far? Btw, do you know the sex? I've been trying to follow your progress reports but if you posted the sex I missed it. Any thoughts on a name? You have to be ecstatic!

No thoughts on a name so far. I'm just gonna wait til' she's home and let it come to me. That's what we did with our TAG, we just began calling her the name of a Sat. Night Live character for fun and it stuck.
Are you familiar with Marc Morrone? That's his store and he told me he'd have him/her sexed a few weeks ago but I never followed up on that. He showed me the little certificate that I'd get. I'm personally not dying to know the sex but it would be nice so I'm gonna ask about it. Marc had a BTM last Oct. I had never seen a BTM at his store before (or never noticed) but even by then I knew I wanted one. I had met a BTM rescue at the Long Island Parrot society expo. earlier that month. Fourteen years old, plucking, neglected, bad diet, and yet was a very sweet bird. The one Marc had last Oct. was a bit shy and uninterested in human contact. She just wanted to be with the other macaws or keep to herself. Mine is feisty with the other birds (when not cuddling with them). Although she's smaller she doesn't back down from them in squabbles and can actually chase them away. If you put your head down close to the edge of the table she'll come over and put her beak on your nose. Not to bite but to nibble. Aside from that her attitude depends on the time of day -mostly she's alert and curious and trying to climb something or someone. Many times that I visited she had just been fed and only wanted to sleep. So I spent many visits playing with the other birds in the store and let mine rest. "You have to be ecstatic!" I am very excited expecially when I'm there with her in the store. But I also didn't expect her so soon so being unprepared has been a bit of a distraction.
