Exclamation feeding an Umbrella Cockatoo the macaw only exact baby food.

I posted this in the cockatoo forum too, but seems more people read this one... so posting again, hope no one minds...

I was walking threw the store and overheard 2 ladies talking about handfeeding her new umbrella cockatoo and of course I stopped and listened heh. She was telling her friend that she feeds ALL of her birds the macaw only exact handfeeding formula. It says on the package of it that it's not for cockatoos. I have macaws and I buy that formula for them. I have a umbrella too that gets the reg kind.

I'm wondering is that going to hurt her bird? Or does it really not matter?

The Macaw formula is really high in fat. Macs need it toos dont. THEY ARE two different species - why cannot ppl get that thru their head. They are not just Both big birds! Every species has specific needs and KAYTEE studies this and makes the Mac Diet for MACS. Hmmm, maybe they should be smarter and name one for Toos as well<lol.
